T-Mobile Officially Launches Fiber Home Internet

Fast fiber speeds with low prices—if you can get your hands on it

T-Mobile officially launched its home fiber internet after quietly rolling out the service in a handful of states over the last several years. The news arrives after T-Mobile closed its acquisition deal with Lumos in April, which now expands T-Mobile’s original home fiber footprint by more than 400K locations.

Allan Samson, the Chief Broadband Officer, made a statement saying, “With the official launch of T-Mobile Fiber, we’re delivering on our promise to bring better broadband to more people — the Un-carrier way. Our new plans, backed by long-term price guarantees, are designed to give customers more choice and peace of mind.”

Customers in T-Mobile’s fiber markets now have access to the new plan lineup, including the Fiber Founders Club. Let’s take a closer look.

T-Mobile’s new fiber internet plans and pricing

Starting Thursday, June 5, 2025, new and existing T-Mobile customers looking to get fiber internet can choose between three different plans as well as an exclusive, limited-time Fiber Founders Club plan.

All fiber plans include no equipment fees or data caps and access to the infamous T-Mobile Tuesdays perks and rewards.

All the plans are aligned with the market (and even a little below) when compared to the average price of fiber internet, which sat at $85 in 2024. That makes the Fiber Founders Club plan an absolute steal. This deal likely won’t last long, so it’d be wise to grab on as fast as you can.

Finally, T-Mobile wireless customers get a $15 discount on their fiber internet bill each month—a $180 savings annually!

T-Mobile’s acquisitions expand its fiber footprint

If you feel like you’ve heard this announcement of fiber internet before, it’s probably because you have. Verizon and AT&T have already widened their footprint by absorbing Frontier and Lumen, respectively. We can expect this to be the new norm, as Verizon’s acquisition of Frontier was approved only last month.

While T-Mobile has had its hands on fiber internet since 2023, it really began picking up speed with the acquisition of Lumos earlier this year. T-Mobile keeps itself busy as it also plans to acquire Metronet (the fastest-growing pure-play fiber company in the U.S.) in 2025. By taking on Lumos and Metronet, T-Mobile expands its network of households across the U.S. that can access fiber internet by 500,000.

“T-Mobile is on track and expects Metronet to close in mid-2025, following completion of all the regulatory steps,” a T-Mobile representative told HighSpeedInternet.com.

While that number seems big, the true availability of T-Mobile Fiber is fairly limited at this point, though there are active plans to reach between 12 and 15 million households by the end of 2030.

Here’s a list of states with T-Mobile Fiber (as of May 2025):

  • California
  • Colorado
  • Florida
  • Illinois
  • Michigan
  • Minnesota
  • New York
  • Wisconsin

Should you get T-Mobile Fiber?

There’s no doubt that it’s worth looking to see if fiber is available for you. The Fiber Founders Club plan gives you twice the speed of Google Fiber for the same price for the most reliable home internet available. The downside to T-Mobile Fiber is that it may not be available in your area—at least, not yet.
